Background
Together, IDP Education and Flywire have created the Fly Higher Awards for 2026, which is a scholarship program meant to assist international students with covering the cost of their study abroad experience. There will be 30 awardees of the program who will each receive a scholarship worth US$3,000.
The award is supported by IDP Education and seeks to reduce the cost burden that relocating and studying may have for international students. The scholarship funds can therefore be used towards paying for tuition, accommodation, medical insurance and many others.
This marks the second year of the Fly Higher Awards, following a long-standing collaboration between IDP Education and Flywire. Both organisations play a key role in supporting international students through admissions services, recruitment and secure education payment solutions.
The scholarship is open to international students who are eligible to make education-related payments through the Flywire platform between June and September 2026. Qualified applicants will be considered for one of the 30 awards.
IDP Education said the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting students throughout their study-abroad journey, from planning and enrolment to settling into life overseas. The organisation noted that financial pressures remain one of the biggest concerns for students preparing to study in another country.
Flywire said the programme highlights the importance of supporting students beyond payment transactions and ensuring they have access to reliable services during their education journey. As far as the company is concerned, the purpose behind the collaboration is to make the experience easy while providing students with monetary help.
Scholarship beneficiaries in the past have claimed that they were able to concentrate better due to reduced financial burden.
This particular initiative is a part of a broader trend in international education, where service providers increase the number of programs that cater to various issues facing students.
