Samsung has rolled out One UI 8 beta program, the newest major update to its mobile user interface system. Powered by Android 16, One UI 8 focuses largely on top-notch AI to offer an eerie, smart experience on its Galaxy smartphones. The beta release starts with Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra devices, previewing Samsung’s idea of context-based mobile interaction.

Among the most striking innovations is the multimodal AI integration, which understands and adjusts to user behavior, routines, and requirements. With an added component such as the new Now Bar and Now Brief, the interface offers personalized content, recommendations, and real-time information on the home screen itself. This makes everyday tasks simpler, ranging from typing messages to navigating apps or adjusting settings.

Samsung has also enhanced audio connectivity with Auracast, allowing users of Galaxy to stream audio simultaneously to multiple devices like Buds3 or compatible hearing aids. Audio can be shared in public places like airports or gyms by users simply scanning a QR code — without any need for pairing. In addition, QR and NFC-based product registration will also simplify in-store support by allowing technicians to access device data instantly.

The development of One UI 8 has been expedited by Samsung’s intimate collaboration with Google. One of the first manufacturers to ship with Android 16, Samsung’s aim is to expose consumers to new innovations early and speed up innovation cycles. The company will launch the final version of One UI 8 with its next-gen Galaxy foldable series, cementing its position as a leader in bridging hardware excellence and smart, adaptive software.

The beta version is now live with users in some markets through the Samsung Members app. Feedback collected through beta will be utilized to shape the final version sometime later this year.
