Background

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), Abu Dhabi University, and SABIS International School hosted a major conference on using artificial intelligence in private K–12 education. The conference was held at SABIS International School on Yas Island and was a gathering of educators, policymakers, and technology leaders who discussed the use of AI to enhance teaching and learning in Abu ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Dhabi.

The conference, called “Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Private K–12 Education Curriculum – Empowering Tomorrow’s Classrooms,” aimed to turn the UAE’s National AI Strategy into practical steps that schools can use. Speakers discussed how AI can support lessons, improve school operations and create more personalised learning experiences. They also said schools must create strong ethical and governance rules so AI tools keep students safe and support their well-being.

Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Dr Ali bin Harmal Aldhaheri, First Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber and Chairman of its Education Working Group. The Ministry of Education presented a keynote on AI’s role in curriculum development, while experts from Abu Dhabi University, SABIS Educational Services and several technology organisations shared real-world examples of AI in schools.

Participants joined keynote talks, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops that showed how AI can be used from kindergarten to Grade 12. Topics included AI-powered assessment tools, digital learning platforms and the future of school administration.

Dr Aldhaheri said education must grow alongside the UAE’s economic ambitions. He said teachers need the skills and confidence to use new digital tools, and students must learn how these technologies work and how to improve them. He added that the conference helped schools exchange practical experiences and move from broad goals to effective AI adoption.

The event supported the UAE’s wider goal of building a future-ready learning ecosystem that prepares students to succeed in an innovation-led economy.
